MEETING
Amy Kay
Hey! My name is Amy. Originally from Donegal, I currently work as an architect in Dublin. I set up my illustration business @amykay_illustrations at the start of the Covid lockdown in March 2020 mainly as a way to keep my mind occupied and remain creative while working from home – doing commissions for friends and selling prints.
Due to my background in architecture, my work mainly focuses on pub and shop facades. I like to keep it simple with elevational drawings in black ink on paper with the odd accent colour thrown in. I love rural Irish architecture and the features and details that exist in vernacular buildings around Ireland.
I mostly draw buildings that mean something special to someone – a first date, a wedding day, their home, their local, even a fave coffee shop (and a lighthouse or two!).

I like to work with people and include small personal details that add a bit of fun to the drawing, like something in the window or outdoor signage. I’ve worked with UCD, NCAD and Donegal County Council and the Town & Village Renewal Programme.
What started as something small to do in the lockdown evenings has since turned into something I am really passionate about and have met lots of cool artists and made some nice connections through. Feel free to get in touch! 😊
