Art has always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From getting in trouble for drawing dinosaurs and space (and space dinosaurs) under my desk in class when I should have been listening….but no regrets!

I trained in computer animation in Ballyfermot after leaving secondary school and worked in the computer games industry (PS1 era) and then in digital visualisation. However in 2010 I retrained and transitioned in the IT sector where I am currently. But I have never lost my interest for art and drawing and it has always pulled me back in, even when I thought I was out. I had stopped for a few years but I did one simple caricature for a work colleague and they really liked it and it slowly took off again. It is a nice feeling when people like something you have created and it is part of my identity.

I have used a mixture of mediums and sketching with pencil and ink is always fun. I would then scan the finished sketch and colour it using Photoshop. I am now using Copic markers to add colour as I love that sketchy/concept style and I am also not using an iPad Pro and with a combination of Procreate and Affinity Photo and Designer. I touch up finished sketches digitally or create everything digitally. A lot of my work is a combination of different approaches and ideas spread out over many years.
